Founded in 1979 by then-owners Jim and Cherie Feehan, American Auto Body quickly became a community standout with its dedication to quality work and customer satisfaction.

About a year later, the North Minneapolis-based shop moved to a larger facility in Osseo to accommodate the breakneck pace at which it was growing. A newer and larger Brooklyn Park building was constructed in 1994.

In 2006, the Feehans retired and sold the company to their eldest son Matthew, who has been running the business ever since.

Matthew’s 28 years of collision repair experience includes knowledge of every aspect of operating a collision repair center. His proficiency extends to and beyond areas such as general maintenance and detailing, repair technician, painter, and general manager. Matthew attended Hennepin Technical College for auto body repair and is certified by both the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) and the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

From the beginning, American Auto Body’s goal was to create a comfortable and clean auto center that felt like more than a regular collision repair shop. Having joined the Fix Auto USA family, Matthew and his team can provide that same level of trust, commitment, care, and competence backed by a united and unparalleled support system.

For Matthew, the arrangement just makes sense: “Joining Fix Auto USA is the culmination of an extensive evaluation as to the best way for me, as an independent operator, to continue to prosper in a rapidly changing marketplace,” he said. “By becoming a Fix Auto USA Franchise Partner, I will immediately gain access to a network of others that care deeply about my business, and there’s a lot of comfort in that.”

With a reputation as market leaders, Fix Auto USA is a network of more than 150 collision repair shops nationally. Each is supported by the Fix Auto brand and is individually owned and operated, balancing the security of an industry leading organization with the hospitality of a traditional neighborhood enterprise.

Only the best and most trusted collision repair businesses are invited to represent Fix Auto USA. Each owner-operator, or Franchise Partner, is subjected to a comprehensive evaluation before being approved to join, so you can be sure the high standard of master workmanship and exceptional customer experience is upheld across the board.

The Fix Auto USA family strives to deliver consistent, quality, and timely repairs, using the latest technology to assure your vehicle receives safe and superior repairs every time. Additionally, repairs are guaranteed for as long as you own your vehicle* and are honored at every location.

With shops now in Minnesota, Fix Auto has expanded to its tenth state and stretched its brand’s mark in the Midwest region. Other franchise locations can be found in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.

The newly anointed Fix Auto Brooklyn Park and Fix Auto Maple Grove remain locally owned and independently operated by the same knowledgeable teams that have provided top-notch auto repair service since 1979. The name is all that has changed.

Getting into an auto accident is frustrating and scary. Getting the right collision repairs is essential to prevent future problems with your car, retain its value, and make it safe for driving. At Michael J’s Body Shop, our extensive collision repair services mean our location is a one-stop shop for your repair needs. Here are some of the services we offer at our auto body shop to make collision repairs fast and convenient for you.

Auto Body Repair

Body damage is extremely common in collisions. Whether you have minor damage, like a dented bumper, or serious damage to the entire side of your vehicle, we can restore your car to its pre-accident condition. We make sure every inch of your vehicle gets the attention you need, regardless of how minor or severe the damage may be. If your car needs to be painted, you can rest assured that our paint-matching experts will get you the right color for a seamless finish. Once we are done with our auto body repair and painting services, you won’t be able to tell that your car was in a collision at all.

Frame Straightening

A major risk after an auto accident is frame damage. Sometimes, auto body shops don’t detect frame damage, and in other instances, they cannot adequately fix it. At our shop, we can safely and effectively restore your frame to maintain its integrity. Frame damage doesn’t have to mean that your car is a write-off, as long as you choose the right repair shop.

Alignment Repairs

The force of a collision can knock your car out of alignment, and it may not be immediately recognizable. However, even a slight problem with your alignment can cause uneven wearing on your tires and impact the drivability of your car. We can ensure your alignment is restored if is affected by an accident.
